Our Services
The DWM team can assist with choosing the correct surface protection solution as well as assess existing linings – visually and through sparktesting. DWM can apply a wide range of rubber sheeting, fibreglassing, epoxies, ceramics and alumina wear resistant tiles to protect the surfaces of process equipment against corrosion – chemical attack, and abrasion.
Our in house DWM project manager ensures quality and an overview until project completion.
It is important to note that the nature of the chemicals in a process will dictate the nature of the of the surface protection.
Rubberling is the process of applying rubber sheeting to a surface and it provides an excellent lining for corrosive and abrasive processes. The rubber compound, ply thickness, width and shore are matched to the customers process requirements. We source our compound and adhesive from reputable suppliers within the Rubber industry and all our work is guaranteed and done to the highest quality standards.
Commonly used Rubber sheeting:
- Cured Rubber – black and red
- Chemical cured rubber – black and red
- Butyl – black
- Linatex – red
GRP – Glass reinforced polymer
FRP – Fibre reinforced polymer
The DWM fibreglassing section comprises of two components:
GRP Linings – where we apply a vinyl-ester resin in the form of an approved corrosion barrier to the surface needing corrosion protection. DWM can laminate a new corrosion barrier onto steel, concrete, or existing GRP surfaces.
We employ an industry standard corrosion barrier that provides superior chemical resistance and physical strength that can be adapted to the nature of the chemical in the process. We can provide expert consultation as to which resins match the nature of the process. The nature of the chemicals in a process and the nature of the substrate to be lined will determine the best suited primer and resin system.
General GRP Work – we can do any type of general fibreglassing work from moulding to building GRP products. A wide variety of coloured gelcoats can be chosen from to make anything imaginable from fibreglass.
We build all sorts – caravan wheel arches, car parts, industrial pump covers, domes used in advertising and so on…
Alumina wear resistant tiles provide optimum protection in extremely abrasive conditions amongst its other corrosion properties. A variety of tile sizes, thicknesses and shapes can be applied according to the nature of the process.
Examples – chutes, reducers, pre-wetter’s, screws etc…
DWM can apply a range of brush able epoxy resin system that have excellent anti-corrosion and anti-abrasion properties. The most suitable type of epoxy resin system is selected depending on the nature of the process and surface that needs protection. The brush able systems can be applied until desired thickness and can be strengthened with the use of glass fibre.
Sparktesting is a method we use to assess an existing rubber or grp laminate. Our sparktesting and evaluation team has many years of experience and understand what to look for when assessing our existing laminate. This information can then be used to establish a scope of work and the applicable surface protection solution can then be applied.
